Maria Lugarda Marcella Quintana, affectionately known as Mary Lou, was born on August 21, 1941, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Epitacio and Dora Quintana. As the eldest of eight children, Mary Lou embraced her role with love and responsibility, setting a strong example for her siblings.
Mary Lou passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024, in Rancho Cucamonga, California, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication.
She is survived by her three children: Joseph Fields, Adrianna Ferraioulo, and Dori Ferranto, who will continue to honor her memory and the values she instilled in them. Mary Lou also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Vicki Fields, and her sons-in-law, Santo Ferranto and Steve Ferraioulo as well as her adopted daughter, Shannon Hansler.
Mary Lou’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her community. She worked in various roles, from being a dedicated homemaker to working in the cafeteria at Baldwin Park High School, and she was known as the best bartender in Covina.
Mary Lou met Joseph Fields at La Puente High School, and they married on March 23, 1959. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished moments.
Mary Lou loved to karaoke and cherished spending time with her children. Her vibrant spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on September 14,2024 at 2:00pm at Stone Funeral Home 355 East 9th Street, Upland, Ca 91786
