Our beloved Maria Teresa Garcia passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2018, at the age of 75. She was born and raised in Mexico and relocated to the United States in her teenage years, where she met her one true love, a man who cherished her above all, her beloved husband David Garcia. Their love was a sight to behold, even after 53 wonderful years of marriage, and what so many people strive to achieve.
Teresa worked many jobs in her life but was truly blessed to find her true calling later in life as a teacher’s aide for preschool children. She often referred to these years as some of the happiest in her life. Upon her retirement, a new chapter of her life began when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a long and grueling battle that she faced valiantly. Throughout this ordeal and despite the struggle and agony she endured, she always had a smile on her face. Without question, she was a survivor who refused to give up.
She is survived by her husband David Garcia and their three daughters Patty, Sandy, and Cindy; her grandchildren Rachel, Cecilia, Yvonne, David, and Sabrina; great grandchildren Maximus and Iden; as well as those that she welcomed into her family, Fernando, David, Saul, Ashlyn, Andres, Alex, Sandra, Iris, and Diane. Throughout her life, there were many whose lives were touched by Teresa’s sweet and loving soul, including lifelong friends David, Irene, Geneve, Lydia, and countless other relatives and friends.

We will never forget the special moments that defined and molded each and every one of us into the people that we are today. Your legacy will survive, flourish, and thrive through each one of us. We were so fortunate for the opportunity to spend time with you the week before your passing, a blessing that we were not privy to know at the time, but we will forever cherish in our hearts. You left with your heart full of love and joy, letting each one of us know how much you loved us and how special we were to you. We have so many funny stories about you, and through the tears we laugh and smile at remembrance of your lively spirit and playful sense of humor. You have always been so strong, and your strength is now within each of us, carrying us through this difficult time. You will always live within our hearts, our memories, and our stories. We are incredibly grateful for the years we’ve spent with you. Thank you for showing us that you are still here for us. Although we all feel incredible loss, it is so important that we remember how lucky we are to have known you.
