away on Friday, September 13, 2024.
LaVonne was born in Guymon, OK, and graduated high school in
Del Norte, Colorado. She met and married Silas LeFevers as he
was attending Lamar Junior College. LaVonne and Silas had four
children and remained married for 60 years until Silas passed in
2014.
LaVonne and Silas lived in New Mexico and Arizona before
settling in Upland, CA, for many years. LaVonne earned her
degree in Library Science and worked for the Claremont Unified
School District for over 20 years. Upon retirement, LaVonne and
Silas moved to their dream home in Mancos, Colorado, where
they enjoyed the Western lifestyle and visits from their
grandchildren and loved ones.
LaVonne loved being a mother and was the heart of the
household. She held the family together and always put everyone
else's needs first before her own. Selfless and giving are the
words that defined her and made her such a loving friend, mother
and wife. LaVonne also loved being a grandmother and took
every opportunity to spend time with them - The house in Mancos
was “summer camp” for Matt, Zoey, Jaime and Kelly.
LaVonne will be greatly missed; she made the world a better
place for all of those around her.
Private services will be held by the family.
