August 19, 1942 - April 8, 2021
With great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathryn Ann Pomella who died peacefully in her home on April 8, 2021 surrounded by the love of her family.
Kathryn was born and lived in Chicago, Illinois on August 19, 1942 and resided in Rancho Cucamonga, California since 1978. Preceding in her death were her parents, Paul and Marie Marsala, and her brother Victor Marsala. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Terrence Pomella, her two children, Phil Pomella and Karla (Robert) Frame, her beautiful granddaughter Lauren Frame (her dolly), and her brother Frank Marsala. She was the beloved aunt of Paul (Tammy) Marsala, Nicole (Earl) Letiecq, Nick Barnes, Lynn (Jeff) Impallaria, Cheryl (Frank) Kalman, Laura (Mike) Lennox, and Valerie (Brian) Brunac. She was also a great aunt and cousin to many.
Kathryn adored all her family and friends. She was very proud of her Sicilian heritage, and family always remained her top priority. She kept everyone together through her holiday gatherings and traditions. She spent her days cooking and baking, and she always cooked enough to feed an army. In 2012 she was fortunate to take a trip with her son Phil back to Sicily. It was a trip of a lifetime for her. Kathryn cherished all her time with her granddaughter Lauren. They both shared a love for baking, watching cooking shows, and sharing recipes. We all had fun family trips to Del Mar and Palm Springs every summer.
Although Kathryn will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her she would want us to remember her, not with sadness, but with happy memories and keep her traditions and connection to family alive. Her memory will live in our hearts and continue to inspire all of her family and friends for generations to come.
