A native of Pennsylvania, she was born on June 4, 1926 in Exeter, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Josephine (Kucharski) Janiszewski and Leonard Janiszewski.
She married Albert E. Nash on July 19, 1947 in Kittery Point, Maine. They moved to Oakland, California in 1948 when Albert reenlisted In the Naval Reserves. They remained in the bay area until Albert earned his teaching credential in
art. In 1952. They relocated to Southern California, when Albert started a teaching job. They lived in Whittier, La Puente, and finally settled In West Covina, California when Albert started teaching at Baldwin Park High School.
She was a homemaker to 5 children, 16 grandchildren, and my dad. When we all were married, she took care of my dad for 13 years until he passed in 1999.
Elaine loved to sew, cook, bake, crotchet and collect dolls. When she was younger, she worked in the sewing factory and was a seamstress like her mother. She liked making clothes for her children, and costumes for all occasions. When Zan was married, she made all of the bridesmaids’ dresses and her wedding dress. She was able to alter patterns to make the dresses original. In addition, she made her traditional polish food. Her Golabki were the best.
She is survived by her son Jan Nash, daughters Lana Hooten, and Zan Sullivan; Grandchildren Elizabeth, Donald, Vanessa, Sherri, Candace, Jeanni , Michelle, David, Jenny, Ruth, Robert, Chad, Matthew, Sean, Rehanna, and Connor, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. Her only living sibling is her brother Henry Janiszewski of Pennsylvania. and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Nash, on November 7, 1999. Two sons Marty Nash 1948, Daniel Nash, February 2018, Her daughter Nannette on May 1999. Two brothers, Edward Janiszewski, Leonard Janiszewski, and Eight sisters; Tekla Janiszewski, Mary Kudracko, Teresa Brosso, Katherine Weed, Genevieve Van Louvender, Rosalie Hunlock, Lucille Chapman, and Josephine Kline.
