Cornelius Devries

Neil De Vries, age 85, went to be with the Lord on August 7th, 2023.

He was born on June 12, 1938, to Gerrit and Clazina De Vries in Hynes (Paramount), California.

After attending Excelsior High School in Norwalk, CA, he continued to work on the family dairy. In 1976 he built his own dairy in Mira Loma, CA, and was also partners with his brother John on a dairy in Helendale, CA for many years.

In 1958 Neil met the love of his life, Mary Ann Vander Ploeg. They had 4 wonderful children, Danny, Jimmy, Randy, and Jodi.

He was a career dairyman. Neil enjoyed life on the dairy caring for his cows, collecting antiques, especially classic cars, and traveling with friends and family. His family has many memories on the dairy with him, riding motorcycles, and enjoying vacations and holidays together.

Neil was preceded in death by his father, Gerrit De Vries, mother, Clazina De Vries, brother John De Vries and son, Danny De Vries. He is survived by his wife, Mary De Vries, brother, Abe De Vries, sister Joan Van Leeuwen, his children, Jim De Vries, Randy De Vries, and Jodi Parkey and her husband Derek, grandchildren, Chris, Dillon, Reid, Chase, and Kobe De Vries and his wife Leslie, Kaylene De Vries and her husband Nate, Kyla and Addison Parkey.

Neil’s family suggests any donations in his memory be given to:

Ontario Christian Schools.
