Chris was born on April 25, 1972 in Merced, California to parents, Larry Christensen and Shirley (Bowman) Christensen.
His very early years were spent living in several places in California, and for a short while, Oregon, spending most of his childhood and early adult years growing up in Upland, California. He attended and graduated in 1990 from Chaffey High School.
His passion for helping people led him to become a Paramedic where he started his career with American Medical Response. He then was hired as a Firefighter Paramedic with Apple Valley Fire District. While working for AMR he met the love of his life and future wife, Linda. They married in 1999 and were blessed with twins, Hanz and Keira in 2005.
In 2001, Chris continued his passion for helping people to become a Fire Fighter Paramedic for Cal Fire. Continuing to advance in his career, he was promoted to Engineer Paramedic and finally a Captain Firefighter Paramedic at Station 13 in Home Gardens, CA. Throughout his time with Cal Fire, he worked at several stations and was fortunate to work with many great partners who became close friends and eventually family.
Chris passed away after a brief illness on August 31, 2024. He is proceeded in death by his father, Larry Christensen who passed away July 6, 2024 and his father-in-law, Bill Dahlquist who passed away July 14, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Dahlquist) Christensen, children Hanz and Keira, his mother, Shirley (Bowman) Christensen, siblings, Lisa, Michelle, Carrie (Rick), and Chad (Zach), mother-in-law, Kyu Dahlquist, brother-in-law, John Dahlquist, nieces and nephews, Eric, Berkeley (Dylan), Kros, Kort, Sofia, Lukus, Franceska, Ella, Holdyn, and baby boy Stancer, due November 2024.
A celebration of life for Christopher will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Stone Funeral Home, Upland, CA
