

Virginia Tennison, a beloved mother whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She was 91 years young, having been born on December 1, 1933.
Virginia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard G. Tennison; her son, Steven Charles Tennison; Her parents Joseph and Lucy (Arispi) Urabazo, brother Raymond and sister in-law Anne, brother William (Billy) and Joseph Jr. (Bobby Joe) Urabazo, and her sister Doris Mae Umber; mother in-law Dorothy Elizabeth Tennison and Father In-law Willard Tennison sister-in-law, Joyce J Chavez, brother-in-law Charles (Chuck) Tennison of Albuquerque NM.
She is survived by her loving children: William Michael (Mike)Tennison and daughter in-law Rene M Tennison, Richard (Rick) Gray Tennison Jr and Daughter in-law Lori Tennison, John S. Tennison, and Mary Catherine (Cate) Smoak and son-in-law, Joseph C Smoak.
In-laws Joe A Chavez, Mary Reopel, Meg Silva and Brother in-law Patrick Silva of Dallas Tx, and Mary Jo Blumenshine of Los Lunas
Cherished grandchildren: Stephen M Tennison, John R Tennison, William (Will) Tennison, Elizabeth (Liz) Tennison, Chuck Miguel Abeyta, Joe, Gary and Michael Smoak of San Antonio Tx, Kelli Tennison, Kyle Tennison of Los Lunas NM
Her sister Violet Ann Rogers and husband Paul of Bethany, Ok, sister in-law Wanda Urabazo of Edgewood, NM and her brother in-law Bill Umber of Woodward, Ok
Virginia was also the beloved great-grandmother of 9 and auntie to numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St Monica’s Catholic Church: Wednesday 23 April 2025 with Visitation 1:00
Rosary at 2:00 PM, and Celebration of Mass at 3:00 PM.
Internment/Procession to Fort Sam National Cemetery (Shelter 1) will begin on Thursday 24 April at 8:45 AM at the Colonial Funeral Home Parking lot located at 625 Kitty Hawk Rd, Universal City, Texas 78148.
Virginia will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love for travel, her enjoyment of sweets, the precious time spent with loved ones, her dedication to her work and community, her passion for reading, her playful spirit, her radiant smile, and her unwavering love will forever be cherished and remembered.
