I remember Tito, my cousin, as someone I enjoyed being with when we were growing up.  My mom worked and would leave us at my "abuelita's" where Tito, Lupe, Beto and Josie also lived.  I recall learning a trick from him that involved a knife and would later get me in big trouble with my mom.  She would tell Tito not to show me anymore tricks and he would laugh and hug her and say, ok, until the next time!  And then another Tito laughter and hug.  
Later in life he joined the USAF and was stationed in Germany.  I remember him coming home from Germany and talking in German.  He  invited us to visit him and  I remember thinking that I needed to learn German. So I took a course in high school. Never made it to Germany for a visit.
Tito was the first to visit our daughter Cynthia when she was born in Germany in 1975.  When I was in the military Lydia and  I were stationed in Italy.  During her last few weeks of pregnancy Lydia was sent from Italy to the USAF hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany.  Tito was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany that year.  When Cynthia was born Tito was able to visit our new baby and Lydia.  
After Tito retired and returned to San Antonio he and I would often meet for lunch.  Lynn would join us on occasions and it was easy to see their special connection.  His pride would also brighten his face when sharing his sons in his discussions.  Every time I met with Tito for lunch or just to visit he would ask about our family and would remember things about what they had done.  He enjoyed talking about "your girl in the AF, Major Valerie" and he would punctuate it with his Tito-chuckle for having another AF family member.   He enjoyed saying my daughter's name, "Leticia a teacher like Lydia".  
It was very satisfying the way he would keep the discussions enjoyable and personable while being absorbed into your world.
His smile and laughter will definitely be missed but, we also know
you're having a great Family reunion!!

The character of a person is measured by what people will say about you when you are gone. I loved Tito over the years we shared in ASA Softball, both on or off the field. Tito was my mentor and was one responsible for my early accomplishments. When he left Southern California, it was heartfelt and a loss to Southern California ASA organization, but a decision he felt was important in his life. Tito, you are loved and admired by many people whose lives you touched. You certainly touched mine in many ways. Thank you for your friendship. Thank you for your service to our country. 

He was one who pleased God and without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. God has rewarded Tito by wrapping him in His heavenly arms and with love.

I have many fond memories of my cousin Tito. He always made me laugh and feel welcomed. My parents loved him so much, too! May you rest in God’s peace and glory cousin. We love you! See you in Heaven. Psalm 23

My sincere condolences to the family. Tito will be remembered as a true patriot and friend as we shared a memorable friendship through our venture in the Air Force.  He was the kind of person you never forget.  And he will be in our hearts forever. His memory will be everlasting. I thank God for allowing Tito to come into my life, he was one of a kind. "Dios de bendiga mi amigo."

Tito is preceded in death by his son Ralph (Michael) Escobedo, his mother Janie, father Tito Sr, sisters Josie Gutierrez and Lupe Fernandez, his brother Gilberto Escobedo. maternal grandmother Cesaria Almaraz, maternal grandfather Jose Almaraz. Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Loretta (Lynn) Escobedo; his children Danny R. Escobedo &amp; wife Mia, John M. Escobedo, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Brother George Zepeda &amp; wife Lisa; sisters Norma Guevara and Sylvia Arizola. And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
