Scott was born on January 10, 1973, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, to Donald Lee and Linda Ruth (McClurg) Iden. He was raised in a military family and spent two years in the Philippines before settling in San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willard and Patricia Iden and Allison “Ruth” and Norman McClurg. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Stephanie, his son, Mitchell, and his daughter, Addison; his parents, Don and Linda Iden; his sister, Gia (Craig) Walton; niece, Savannah Walton; nephews, Benjamin Walton and Scott Morrison; uncles, Jim McClurg and Jerry McClurg; and several cousins.
Scott was a hard-working individual with an entrepreneurial spirit. As a young child, Scott sold his mom’s chocolate chip cookies, made and sold hacky sacks, and mowed lawns for extra money. His first job was at Bill Miller’s where his love of barbeque grew. He graduated from East Central High School in 1991 and attended San Antonio College where he studied graphic design. He started his career at Color Separations Inc. where he gained experience in computers, graphic arts and print production. He continued developing these talents for numerous companies in the print, retail and marketing industries before co-founding TopBox Solutions in November 2010. He and his business partner built a successful IT Managed Service Provider business which was recognized in the Inc. 5000 List as one of the fastest growing private companies in 2017 and 2018. He was well respected in the small business and non-profit industry in San Antonio. In June 2024, his business merged with MyTech Partners, where he looked forward to growing the Enterprise Consulting division.
His faith and family were cornerstones of his life. He was a devoted follower of Jesus and faithful member of Grace Community Church. His desire to instill faith led him to serving in Children’s ministry, leading small groups, and volunteering for weekly Bible memorization at his kids’ school. Spending quality time with family was his greatest source of love and joy. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and vacationing at the beach. He believed engagement was key to being a good husband and father. He was intentional with family time, family devotions, and actively involved in coaching and developing his kids in various sports and life skills to build character. He had a quick wit and was gifted at telling dad jokes. He was a loving husband, father, brother and son, a loyal friend, respected entrepreneur and a servant leader who positively impacted the lives of all who came into his path. Scott was truly special and his family and friends will miss him greatly.
