Raul Arnesto Wilshire, beloved husband and father of four, passed away on July 23, 2021 at his home. He was born to Roy James Wilshire and Marjorie H. Brown Wilshire on October 18, 1965, at St. Michaels Hospital, Newark, New Jersey. Raul graduated from Essex Catholic High School, Newark, NJ, in 1983. After graduating from high school, he enlisted the United States Air Force and continued his education and received a certification in information technology. While in high school, he was a studious student and excelled in all academic areas, was active in sports, and loved drawing comics characters.
He met the love of his life, Helyn Martina Keith, while serving at Whiteman AFB in Missouri. They were married on August 2, 1986, and to this union, four children were born, Ariel, Raul Jr., Aryes, and Ameriste. He and his family were stationed at Misawa (Japan), Spangdahlem (Germany), Hickham (Oahu Hawaii), and Barksdale (Louisiana) Air Force bases. Raul served in the USAF for 25 years. After retirement from the Air Force, he relocated to Cibolo, Texas, and was employed at Randolph Air Force base as a forward logistics support specialist. He was a dedicated and committed employee until his passing.
Raul had faith in the Lord and was a dedicated member at Word of Faith Christian Center. He served in many auxiliaries such as Keeper of the House and parking assistance in the church. He also participated in outreach on a weekly basis to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Raul enjoyed family gatherings and loved communicating with family members via texts, group chat, and phone calls. He also had a love for Gospel and Jazz music when he wasn’t listening to the spoken word. He enjoyed traveling (especially cruising), cooking, and making people laugh. Raul honored his father and mother and loved and enjoyed the time he spent with them. He was a gentle giant, warm, generous, and loving person who always greeted you with a contagious smile. Raul was a help to anyone in need, and above all, he was a Godly man that cherished spending time with his families and friends.
