Porter Dale Stone passed away on August 16, 2013 at the very young age of 3. He was born on January 19, 2010 in San Antonio, TX. He actually shared his birthday with his big brother Pierce which was a blessing by God. This day will remain forever a truly special day for us all. Porter is survived by his mother, Amber Dale Stone; father, Jason McKaig Walkingstick; sister, Jordyn; brothers, Preston, Pierce, Preston, and Phillip; grandparents, Dale and Sandy Hess, Bill and Jackie Wilson, Billy and Nanette Wilson, Mark and Peggy Walkingstick, and Eugene and Jackie Stone; great-grandparents, Clayton and Belva Spiva, Betty Chattam; and Marilyn Golly; uncles, Gary, Coby, Ivan, Dmitri, Wesley, Paul and James; and aunts, Amanda, Cynthia, Brittany, Lauren, April and Misty.
He came into this world a glowing beacon and his light was never dimmed. The joy in his eyes lit up everyone’s face he encountered. His smile was contagious--his laugh always made you join in.
He had a great love of nature and animals taught to him by his siblings and his father. He enjoyed many, many trips gathering the eggs around his father's home and feeding the donkeys and cows. He was the hardest working little man I ever came across and would tackle any task given to him just to prove he could do it. He may have been only three but he wouldn't hesitate to show you his muscles and pick up the largest rock in the field so you could see his strength.
He had a much softer side as well. A very loving side, full of joy for all he cared for and a heart bigger than the moon itself. A day did not go by that he wouldn't pick a flower of some sort for me, his mother, and remind me he loved me, or I am pretty, or God made this just for you. He was often the first to share a toy if he saw other siblings in a disagreement. Or perhaps, he'd create another game altogether to try to smooth things over.
He loved everyone he encountered. When arriving at either of his Grandparents house he was the first one out of the car and running down the driveway to jump in their arms: “Gamma!!!!!!" "Grandpa!!!!!!!!"
And man, could this Angel eat? Uncle Gary gets most of the credit here although he did occasionally say Mom made the best Spaghetti. Apparently, Uncle Gary's Biscuits are cooking channel worthy according to Porter--along with much of his other cooking and luckily, Porter was not picky at all. He would try--and usually eat it ALL.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. A Private Interment will be held at a later time.
