Martha was born on February 4, 1923, in Uvalde, Texas, and resided in Universal City, Texas for over 50 years. She was the fifth child born to Sam and Viola Washington. Martha lived a very busy life. Most of her early years were in sales at Joske’s of Texas and Dillard’s department stores. Martha was a garden enthusiast and spent most of her time caring for her plants and creating flower arrangements. She often said she “never had a plant she didn’t like or one she couldn’t grow”.
Martha also spent time volunteering throughout the years. In Universal City she worked with the Beautification Committee in beautifying the city and giving awards to homeowners for Yard of the Month. After retiring from sales, Martha volunteered at Northeast Methodist Hospital where she worked for 18 years in the Gift Shop. Martha also spent many years ushering in her church, Randolph AFB Chapel 1 and she took care of plants that were given to newcomers of the base. She was also a member of the Garden Club in Live Oak, Texas.
In 1991 Martha joined “55-Plus” and enjoyed traveling, going to plays, line dancing and playing cards. Martha’s favorite expression was “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
Martha is preceded in death by her husband Mark A. Revallion Jr, her daughter Gail A. Baker, parents Sam and Viola Washington, and siblings George, Lloyd, Earnest, Myrtle, Willena, and Ethel.
