Maria Keane, age 74, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 under the "Christmas Star" she is truly blessed. This star only comes around every 18 to 20 years, that's how amazing she was. Maria was born June 29, 1946 in Carini, Sicily. Her family relocated from Sicily to New York City when she was a young teenager. She was the daughter of the late Andrea and Iuvina LoIacono. Sister to Andrea LoIacono, Alfonso LoIacono, Antonina Dellea (LoIacono), Joseph LoIacono, Vincent LoIacono and Sebastiano LoIacono.
Survived by her beloved husband James Keane of over 31 years. Her children Anthony Doehler and wife Trudell; Elizabeth (Lysa) Reyes and husband Eddie; Step-Mother to James Keane Jr.; Loved by her late Mother and Father-In-Law Andrew and Cathleen Keane and their loving children.
Also survived by her three Grandchildren Kylee Afflitto, Ashlee Martin and Jennifer Doehler. Two Step-Grandchildren Casee and Vincent. Great Grandchildren Benjamin and David Martin. Also survived by many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Maria worked as a seamstress, worked in Staten Island University Hospital and for many years in the Church. Saint Ann's Church and Blessed Sacrament in Staten Island, New York, Caregiver to Monsignor Donald Dwyer's parents Ruth and Matthew Dwyer. She met many dignitaries from around the world due to her work at the Catholic Church. Including Bishops and Cardinals also Political Leaders most famous of all former President William (Bill) Clinton.
Maria loved to dance all her life, in Sicily she danced at Carnivals with her beloved brother Alphonse LoIacono.
A visitation for Maria will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A Rosary service will occur Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM live video will be streamed, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholich Church, 16075 N. Evans Rd., Selma, TX 78154. A committal service will occur Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 16075 N. Evans Rd., Selma, TX 78154.
