She loved traveling to Mexico with family and different church groups. After her retirement in the early 1970's as a seamstress for the Miller Curtain Co., she loved taking the Via bus to spend her days playing Bingo or strolling downtown San Antonio. The Via bus was her mode of transportation well into her late eighties and early nineties!
Though she never married or had children, she had a hand in helping raise many of her nieces and nephews. She would introduce many of them to her love of the Catholic faith and the Via bus. Countless hours were spent with them in downtown San Antonio, going to church, stores, Alemeda Theater, and even the circus. No place was off limits as long as the Via bus could get you there.
She was a religious and faithful woman who many family members would turn to any time prayers were needed. Her long life was lived with independence and no fear in confronting any situation that would arise. She was outspoken until the end, small in stature but large in life.
And so she lived the words of a famous Frank Sinatra song: “She did it Her Way”
