Lois was born on June 11, 1928 in Claypool, Arizona. She was the youngest of 12 children born to George Thomas Eaker and Ruby Angela Eaker (Copeland).
Though born in Arizona, Lois grew up in the beautiful state of New Mexico. Her early years were spent primarily in the Farmington-Aztec area of New Mexico before moving with her parents to Carlsbad, New Mexico at the age of 13 after a fire destroyed her family’s home and belongings. After graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1946, Lois eventually moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she met and married George Becker with whom she served alongside during his long Air Force career. In addition to being a wife and mother, Lois also had a long and distinguished career of public service working for various federal government agencies such as the U.S. Air Force and Bureau of Land Management before retiring from the U.S. Department of Energy in Carlsbad.
Lois dearly loved her immediate and extended family. She loved reading, traveling, raising and playing with her precious dogs, and playing dominoes and other games with her friends and family. But mostly, she loved God and serving His church wherever she lived. Lois was a life-long disciple of Jesus Christ and taught Sunday School for much of her adult life as well as serving the church in various other capacities.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 49 years, her son David Becker, and her 11 siblings: Verna Bohannon (Eaker), Muriel Jones (Eaker), Thelma Crane (Eaker), Raymond Eaker, Roberta Eaker, Marion Priesnitz (Eaker), Naomi Werner (Eaker), Gilbert Eaker, Georgia DeRusha (Eaker), Helen Cross (Eaker), and Billy Eaker.
Lois is survived by her daughter Kerry Becker, son Dennis Becker (wife Karen), daughter-in-law Elizabeth Becker (widow of David Becker), step-granddaughter Anna Bosworth, step-granddaughter Amy Williamson, step-great granddaughter Delaney Williamson, step-great granddaughter Ramsey Williamson, and numerous other extended families.
Lois will be interred with her late husband at Fort Sam National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
