My sincerest sympathy to the entire Stapleton family.  I am still in shock and saddened at the passing of John.  I worked with him at Brooks for 6 years and he always had a smile on his face and had a helping hand in everything he did.  It was a privilege to have worked with him and to have known him.  My God be with you all in helping your hearts heal.

So sad to hear of the passing of John.  My condolenses to his family and friends.  I have such fond memories of our days at SMA.

I was truly sorry to hear of the passing of John. It is always sad to hear that we lost one of our Academy friends. John was a good person and many of us were blessed he crossed our path. Many God grant you strength in your time of loss. My sympathy to John's families.

I will always remember all the great memories from working with John at Brooks City Base.  The support he showed the mentoring and most of all the friendship.  In the 8 years that we worked together there were so many days that we shared in a daily joke and laughed until we cried.   John will be truly missed.

Setsuko, just learned of Johnny's passing, so sad. We had a special bond as cousins.  When our families would visit in Floydada lots of laughter would take place.  I'm left with many fond memories of Johnny.

We went on to share great time working together at Hickam and in Japan for many years after.  John was a good man and will surely be missed.  With sincere condolence!

I can still hear John's celebration of life each morning at work at Brooks City Base when he smiled as he sipped his first cup of coffee he brewed and said with satisfaction an "aahh" meaning it was good. John made a good cup of coffee for all to enjoy. And we enjoyed other fine aspects of John at work. I worked with John at Yokota '90-91 . We worked at Det 2/DO on Yokota,  golfed at Tama, and fished at Mt Fuji--what a life. He was boss, mentor, and friend. Setsuko, Mika, Irene and family, please accept my heartfelt thoughts for your family and John. He was a true Postal Professional and USAF Vet. It's sad that we thank him this Veterans Day 2016.

I first met Sgt Stapleton in 1982 when I was stationed at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea assigned to Detachment 2, 6005th Air Postal Squadron and served with him again begining in 1987 at Yokota Air Base, Japan.  I, like everyone who worked with or for him, came away with a greater knowledge and understanding of how Postal operations were carried out.  Please accept my condolences for your loss.

To Mrs. Stapleton and family, my sincere sorrow for your loss.  John, pretty much taught me "everything" at Misawa Air Base, on how to run a Post Office.  I will always remember his insight and philosophy, he was a natural teacher.  God Bless you all at this time of need.
