John Loyd

John Loyd of Live Oak went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2012 at the age of 80. He retired in 1974 after 24 years in the USAF. Since 1965 he has served as Minister of Music in England, Hawaii and San Antonio Baptists Churches. His last Church of service was Weidner Road Baptist Church of San Antonio. A visitation will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. and a memorial service Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Carrie Loyd, Children; Chris Loyd, and Delene Temkin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Phillip Loyd and Paul Loyd; sisters, Elouise Young and Freda Maton; 5 nieces and 4 nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter RaNell and his brothers James Loyd and Terrell Loyd.
