MSGT USAF (Ret.) James Milton Biggs, Jr. passed from this world at the age of 71 on June 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother Mozelle Johnson, father James Milton Biggs, Sr., son James Brian Biggs, brother John Gary Biggs, sisters Linda Malone and Sheri Claborn, brother-in-law Lee Roy Gaylor, and mother-in-law Emma Boartz.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Renee Biggs, daughter Kimberly Biggs, grandchildren Cassidy Biggs, Sarah Biggs, and Meagan De La Cruz, sister and brother-in-law Becky and Bobby Laden, aunt and uncle Thelma and Jim Biggs, son-in-law William Waclawczyk, sister-in-law Linda Gaylor, brother-in-law Dee Tate, step mother Eutha (Pee Wee) Biggs, sister-in- law Paula Biggs, one great-grandson and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
James was born December 19, 1942 and lived most of his childhood in Kilgore, Texas before he moved to Hobbs, New Mexico to live with his Aunt Thelma and Uncle Jim. He graduated from Hobbs HIgh School and joined the Air Force in 1960. He retired from the Air Force as a Vietnam Veteran in 1980. He worked in the Civil Service at Randolph AFB, Texas until his retirement.
He spent his years after retirement gardening, keeping his yard immaculate, listening to his favorite C&W music, watching classic movies, and taking care of the deer in the greenbelt next to the house.
He will be remembered by his friends and family as a big fan of Nascar, the UT Longhorns, Cowboys and Spurs. He will also be remembered as a caring person who could always be counted on in a crises. He was called Jimmy by his buddies, Pug by the Biggs family, Papa by his grandchildren, but his wife called him James from the first day they met in high school.
May the Lord bless and keep James, Jimmy, Pug, Dad, and Papa in His loving arms and grant him eternal peace in His grace.
