Alcohol told him, “I can make you feel accepted, I can make you feel alright, I can make you feel worthy, I can make you feel normal, I make you feel loved and I can make you feel nothing and make you feel like everything will be okay.” What it didn't tell him was how it would devastate his family, take his job and leave him penniless. How it would take his smile, how it would take his caring good nature and make him an angry person. It would take and take and take until it took his life.
He is survived by his mother, Maria Griffith; his sister, Christina Grinie and brothers Mario and Michael. He is predeceased by his father, Ramon; grandmothers, Maria Hessmer and Vicenta Acosta; his uncle, Klaus; and our youngest brother, Klaus.
Henry will be missed by his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Henry's name be made to a drug treatment center (such as the SOBA Recovery Center in San Antonio) to help others who are struggling.
