Harold M. Rodland, Jr. went to be with the Lord on April 22nd, 2016 at the age of 90. He was born in Everett, Washington on May 9th, 1925 to parents, Harold M., Sr. and Jenny Melseth Rodland. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Rodland, and grandson Noel Cascelli. Mr. Rodland served our country for 38 years in the Navy, Air Force, and Civil Service. He loved traveling, dancing, but most of all, he loved the Lord. His favorite Bible verse was Romans 5: 1-5. “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
He is survived by his loving spouse of 69 ½ years Donna Rodland, daughters: Patricia Cascelli and her husband Alfred, Teresa Rodland and her husband Troy Davenport; grandsons, Michael Cascelli and Erik Svihla; granddaughters, Amy Cascelli and Somer Svihla; and great-grandson, Christopher Cascelli. The family will receive guests beginning at 6:00pm on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home on Kitty Hawk Road with a Prayer Service to start at 7pm and a reception to follow. Interment will take place, Wednesday April 27th, 2016 at 10:15am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
