SMSgt. George R. Ropke, U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 85 passed away April 4, 2011. He was born July 26, 1925 in Jersey City, NJ to George P. and Louise (Bruchman) Ropke. He served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a life member of Abou Saad Temple, Panama Canal and a life member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Balboa, Orient of Panama Canal. He is preceded in death by his wife Anita Marie Ropke and a daughter Anita Hunter. Survivors include his friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. Masonic Rites will be under the auspices of Randolph Masonic Lodge, #1268 A.F. & A.M. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
