My favorite veteran, my mentor and advisor, and most of all my Father.... I miss our Sunday phone conversations so much..... I will always be grateful for the life you gave me. I love you and miss you.

Dear Linda and Ginger, 
I miss your Dad, my sweet Uncle Frank, so very much.  We grew in a way greater than Uncle and neice especially since Aunt Mildred left.  I will miss our talks, his insight on life, on the government, on our family, on my Mom his big sister, on the way life should be, on how much he loved every day of his life.  I was blessed to share his blood, to share his kindness, to share his view on life.  My dear Uncle Frank was a man who lived by his own rules, who lived by the love of his sweetheart and his family, who lived by his courage to stand firm on what was right and good with the world.  The last time we spoke, he told me that he never regretted a day in his life.  That is a gift unmet by most of the world.  God bless him, and all who were privileged to know him, especially those of us who were blessed to be his kin.  There are no words to express the depth of your loss, but I surely hope that the expanse of your memories will help to ease the pain of his absence, and the comfort that he is with his sweetheart. Dear Blase Family,

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved.  There are never any right words to express how deeply sad I am for the pain your family is enduring at this difficult time.    

Although I did not have the honor and pleasure of knowing him, as Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for his valiant service in defense of our rights and freedom.

His commitment to family, friends, our community, and to serving our great nation leaves a wonderful legacy.  May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. He will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.

I remember both Colonel and Mrs. Blase fondly.  My heart goes out to their daughters Virginia and especially Linda, my BFF.

Ginger: May God bring you and Linda the peace from knowing your Mom and Dad are reunited. He lived a long life and left many wonderful memories in the many lives he touched. He will be missed.

To the Blase children and family,
My sympathies on the passing of your father, LtCol Blase.  I may have met him a few times, but it was your mother who I knew better.  I bowled with her for years at Randolph, and was my favorite person.  I was saddened to hear she had gotten ill, and subsequently passed away.  But not after your dad faithfully cared for her.  They were truly soul mates.  Your loss will leave a hole in your lives and hearts.  Allow time and memories to fill the hole, always remembering the best of times.  May God embrace all of you during this time of healing.
