Frances E Mathis

Frances "Fran" Earle Mathis was born in Water Valley, Mississippi on July 5, 1936. She was married to Bobby "Bob" Gene Mathis just shy of 57 years who passed away in 2010. She was an only child to Earl and Ruth Johnston.

She is leaving behind two sons, James (Melinda) Mathis, John (Pam) Mathis, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

Fran was a sweet Christian woman who faced the challenges of being a military wife, traveling to Europe to live on U.S. Military bases in Germany and France, and raising two sons (who are only 13 months apart) practically by herself while her husband was out on tour duty much of the time during his 20 years with the U.S. Air Force. Everyone she met she considered a friend and every life she touched was grateful to have known her. She will be greatly missed, but we rejoice with her as she finally goes to meet her Jesus.

A committal service for Frances will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:20 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #4,1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
