CWO3 Donald L. Winn (USAF Retired) entered into rest on September 25th at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Helen (Barndollar) Winn, wife of 53 years, Leila Grace Peake Winn, daughter, Jean Marie Winn Morgan and several siblings. He is survived by his son and his wife Donald L. and Montine (Cannon) Winn, Jr., of Jacksonville, Florida, his son-in-law, Mendell D. Morgan, Jr. of Live Oak, grandson and his wife David and Linda (Olvera) Morgan, and great grandsons, Ricky Sepulveda and Alejandro Morgan all of Houston. He was decorated during his twenty year military career which began with the US Army Air Corps, and continued with the US Air Force. He served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. After retiring from active duty, he held several civilian positions before settling in Live Oak, TX. He had lived for the past nine years at the Incarnate Word Retirement Community where he received the best of care. Don will always be remembered for the funny stories he loved to tell and his love of whistling. Visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral home from 7 - 9 pm Thursday, 9/29 and a memorial service at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church (810 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City) on Friday 9/30 at 8 am. Burial will follow immediately at Ft. Sam Houston. Pallbearers will be Basil Aivaliotis, Tom Barnhart, David Morgan, Mendell Morgan, Ricky Sepulveda and Bill Towery. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by donations to the Alzheimer's Association or donations to the charity of one's choice.
