Cynthia was born on January 28, 1949 in San Antonio. Her passion was teaching and her career spanned decades, teaching at Roosevelt High School, Madison High School and ending at Wood Middle School. She was married to the love of her life, William Joseph Marthes Jr., until his death on May 8, 1999.
Cynthia is survived by her two children, William Marthes and Tanya Marthes. Cynthia had a great love for her fur babies as well.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alamo City Pit Bull Rescue. Donations can also be made, in Cynthia’s name, to womensheart.org to help raise awareness of the different symptoms of a heart attack for women.
Cynthia’s joy and love of life was an inspiration to so many. In her honor, please feel free to wear bright colors, butterfly prints (her favorite) and sunflower prints to the services.
Viewing will be Tuesday, September 10th from 5 – 8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday, September 11th at 10:30 AM, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Reception to follow at the VFW Hall in Schertz, TX.
