Arturo Gomez

Arturo Gomez passed away December 10, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born November 23, 1939 in Laredo, Texas to Enrique and Herlinda Mata Gomez. Arturo proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a code enforcement officer for Webb County. He attended St. Monica’s Catholic Church and was a member of Holy Redeemer Church in Laredo, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents and several other siblings.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years, Idalia Santos Gomez; his children, Gloria Gomez and Arturo Gomez, Jr. and wife Alma, sister Olivia Gomez Vigil and husband Alberto; grandchildren, Damian Martinez, Jr., Eleazar Sanchez, Alonzo Sanchez, Victoria A. Gomez, Alexandra Gomez, Andres Arturo Gomez; numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Colonial Funeral Home located at 625 Kitty Hawk Rd. Universal City, TX 78148 from 9am-11am with Holy Rosary to be recited at 11am followed by Funeral Service. A committal with Military Honors will follow at 1pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, TX 78209.
