Anne Mary Cavazos, age 58, of Universal City, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening May 1, 2019 surrounded by family and loved ones. Anne was the second child and only daughter born to Mary Louise (Thibodeau) Hart and William Gardner Hart Senior on Tuesday, January 26, 1961 in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Anne attended Weslaco High School in Weslaco, TX and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. She married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Cavazos on January 7, 1984 in Weslaco, Texas. They were married for 35 years. After being a wonderful stay at home mom for 16 years, she went back to school to receive her teaching certification. She taught at St. Gregory the Great Catholic School from 2007 to 2015. She then taught middle school math at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School from 2015 to present.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; Mary Louise (Thibodeau) Hart and Dr. William Gardner Hart Sr., and her daughter Katy Cavazos. She leaves behind and lives on in the memories of her husband, Daniel Cavazos; her brother, Dr. William Gardner Hart Jr.; her children, Jonathan Michael Cavazos, Mary Katherine (Cavazos) Flores and husband Matthew E. Flores, Elizabeth Anne (Cavazos) Rubio and husband Gabriel M. Rubio, Emily Claire Cavazos, Thomas Anthony Cavazos; her nephew, William Gardner Hart III and his wife Shirley and their two children William Gardner Hart IV and James Hart; her grandchildren, Madelyn Grace Flores and Mia Lynn Flores.
A rosary for Anne will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 600 Oblate Drive, San Antonio, TX 78216. A funeral service will occur Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 600 Oblate Drive, San Antonio, TX 78216. The internment will follow the funeral service at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery #2, 16075 North Evans Road, Selma, TX 78154.
Please feel free to wear a floral or colorful outfit to the rosary as one of Anne’s greatest joys was her garden and flowers. We encourage anyone who has a garden to bring your own flowers to place at her gravesite.
