Dear and gracious God, we pray in gratitude for our beloved father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather Adolpho Garcia who entered eternal life on November 19, 2022. He was 86 years old and as he would say, “I finally drank the Croak-A-Cola”.
Adolpho was born in George West, Texas on July 29, 1936, to Agapito and Gabina Garcia and preceded in death by them and his two brothers, Aliborio, and Abelardo Garcia. He is reunited with his soulmate and his beloved wife of 42 years Maria Lourdes Garcia.
He was one of eight children and is survived by his brothers Alfredo and wife Adelina Garcia, Adan and wife Joyce Garcia, Frank and wife Elizabeth Garcia, Agapito and wife Ida Garcia, and sister Gadelia Acuna. He is also survived by his wife Irma and extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Adolpho grew up in Mathis, Texas and graduated from Mathis High School, and joined the United States Air Force shortly afterward. He proudly served his country for 26 years which took him to Maine, Spain, California, the Philippines, Arkansas, and back home to Texas. After his retirement from the military, he worked for the US Postal Service for 15 years. His work ethic and love for education were always at the forefront for his children and grandchildren. He obtained two associate degrees, one in Psychology and another in Sociology.
He was a devout Catholic to his core, his love and devotion are evidenced by his legacy to his family and those who knew him. His powerful love for God was never ending and unwavering. Adolpho is survived by his seven children Maria Diana and husband Emerito Oronos, son Adrian Garcia, daughter Esmeralda and husband Mark Green, daughter Sylvia and husband George Devita, daughter Carolina Lopez and husband Heith Beach, daughter Raquel and husband Robert Treviño, and son Col. Adolfo Jr. and wife Terri Garcia.
Adolpho had many grandchildren that he believed were gifts from God; Granddaughter Dr. Leilani Marie Garcia-Holle and husband Gary Holle. Grandson Dr. Martin and wife Samantha Devita. Grandson Maj. George and Kirstie Devita. Grandson Maj. Marco and wife Kimberly Oronos. Grandson Cruz and wife Natalia Oronos. Granddaughter Marissa Marie Garcia and fiancé Robert Chavez. Grandson Junie and wife Christina Garcia. Granddaughter Kassandra and husband Rick Silva. Grandson Joaquin, granddaughters Olivia, and Itzel Garcia. Granddaughter Corina Marie and husband Cedrick Quinene. Grandson Phillip Galvan. Granddaughter Ciara Marie and husband Justin Mendoza. Grandson Dr. William and wife Ada Lopez. Granddaughter Gabriella Marie Lopez and Giovanni Castillo. Grandson Heith, Aidan, and granddaughters Angelina Lourdes and Kayla Beach. Grandson Robert Jr, and granddaughters Christianna Marie, and Isabella Lourdes Treviño. Granddaughter Audrey Marie, and grandsons Michael, Jack, and Daniel Garcia.
In addition, he is loved by his great-grandchildren. Great grandsons Nikos, Keno, Beckham, and Jameson Oronos. Great granddaughters Soraya, Josephine, and Katalyna Oronos. Great granddaughter Mia Garcia, Cosima Chavez, and great-grandson Gabriel Ostrander. Great-granddaughters Kaylee, Liliana, and great-grandsons Nikos, and Vinny Silva. Great grandson Liam, and great-granddaughter Analise Lourdes Holle. Great granddaughter Scarlett Devita. Great granddaughter Valentina Mendoza. Great granddaughter Camilla Lourdes and soon-to-be Milani Castillo.

A visitation for Adolpho will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A rosary will occur Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 7:00 PM, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A funeral mass will occur Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 16075 N. Evans Rd, Selma, TX 78154. A graveside service will occur Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:45 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
