Richard J. Reda

Richard J. Reda, age 86, of Cranford, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday October 13, 2022 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Helen Roman Catholic Church 1600 Rahway Avenue Westfield, NJ, on Tuesday October 18, 2022 at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. The family will receive their friends at McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Avenue Union, NJ, on Monday October 17, 2022 from 4-8 PM. Richard was a troubleshooter with Depository Trust Company of New York City, retiring in 1999. In his retirement, Richard enjoyed working on his lawn that he took great pride in, going to the pool with friends, watching sports (he was an avid fan of West Virginia football and the Yankees), and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Elizabeth Chapter of Unico and worked for the Cranford Board of Education as a lunch aide, known as “Mr. Rich” to the kids. He loved making people laugh and was a light to those around him.

Beloved husband for 37 years to Catherine Arena Reda, devoted father of Richard (Vilma) Reda, Celia (Richard) Harms, Marc Augustus Reda and Regina (John) Blasi, loving grandfather of Matthew, Melanie, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Corina, Marc Jr. and Johnny, dear brother-in-law of Frank, Luigi, Fortunato, Teresa and Pasquale Arena.
