Marie J. Mauro

Marie J. Mauro (nee Piccirillo), 87, a longtime resident of Hillside, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 4, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. 07083. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Church, 411 Rutgers St., Hillside, N.J., on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. Marie attended Eastside High School in Newark, N.J., and was a librarian assistant at the Hillside Public Library for nearly 20 years. She was married on Jan. 18, 1948, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church to her beloved husband, Mario Mauro. Marie was involved and participated in many organizations, including AARP of Union, N.J., St. Catherine's Seniors in Hillside, N.J., the Rosary Society of Christ the King Church, Hillside, N.J., and the Rondos. She was the beloved wife of Mario Mauro; devoted mother of Michael Mauro and his wife, Sandee, Pamela McCoy, Mario Mauro and his wife, Loretta, Lisa Mauro, and the late Anthony Mauro; loving grandmother of Christopher Mauro and his wife, Christina, Jaclyn McCoy, Angel Fleming and husband, David, Jenna Mauro and Victoria Mauro; cherished great-grandmother of Brittany, Kendall, Emerson, Gina, Anthony, Miles, Evelyn and Joseph, and great-great-grandmother of Camryn. In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made in Marie's memory to the American Lung Association or the charity of your choice.
