Margaret Winifred Spirito

Margaret was born and raised in Kingston, NY and resided in Elizabeth for over 50 years. She was a registered nurse and was a graduate of St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in New York, where she met her husband of 57 years. She was an advocate of special education Services in Elizabeth and very active in the library board at the Elizabeth Public Library.

Beloved wife of Dr. Anthony M. Spirito. Loving mother of Dr. Michael Spirito and his wife Lavinia, Dr. Mary Jo Spirito, Mark Spirito, Robert Spirito, Anthony M. Spirito and his wife Rosalie, and Elizabeth Ann Spirito. Dear sister of Ann Pilmeier. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 18th from 3-6 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union NJ. A funeral mass will be offered on Monday, December 19th at 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Church, Union, with entombment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
