Joseph R. Schumann, 93, of Union, N.J., passed away on Nov. 10, 2013. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. A graveside service will take place on Friday, Nov. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Graceland Memorial Park , Kenilworth, N.J. Joseph was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Elizabeth, N.J., before settling in Union, N.J. A United States Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Post 35. He was the beloved husband of the late Natalie Louise Schumann (nee Rickle); loving father of Russell Schumann and his wife, Virginia, and the late Nadine Schumann-Mahoney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
