John F McManus Sr.

He was born November 16, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ to the late John and Helen (nee Garrison) McManus.

John was drafted and served in the US Army from 1960-1962.

He worked as a mechanic and crane operator at Exxon in Linden, NJ for over 30 years.

John enjoyed following the stock market and sharing his insights with his neighbors, spending time outside gardening and feeding the animals. He loved watching baseball especially the NY Yankees. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his cat, Willow.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of 59 years, two children, John and wife Jihye McManus Jr and Kristine Rapczynski and two grandchildren, Michael Jr., and Cassidy as well as his two sisters Marie Sadlowski, and Rita McManus.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the McCracken Funeral Home on Tuesday November 5, 2024 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday November 6, 2024 at the Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Rd, Staten Island NY, 10306.
