Born on March 4, 1932 to the late John and Edith Durso in Newark, NJ.
John attended Georgetown University and was a graduate of Seton Hall University. He served as a Cadre in the US Army stationed in El Paso, Tx. John was a mechanical engineer by profession and worked for Weston Instruments in Newark , NJ. He was instrumental in designing meters that went into the Gemini Space Program. A devoted husband and father he enjoyed coaching sports, teaching, tutoring and was a member of the Union Board of Education.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Rosalie and three sons, John, Robert , James and their spouses. He leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his parents John and Edith as well as a sister Josephine Jayne.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Spirit Church, 971 Suburban Rd, Union, NJ 07083 on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 12:00 PM followed by entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ 07083.
