With much sadness the family of Jane C. Parsonnet (nee Wagner) of Warren, NJ announces her passing on September 02, 2020 at the Morristown Medical Center with loving family at her side.
Jane was born to parents Richard and Dorothea Wagner on April 9, 1939 in Irvington, NJ. She grew up in Hillside, NJ and attended Hillside High School where she met her late husband of 36 years, Richard L. Cort. They raised three children together providing unconditional love and guidance for which they are eternally grateful.
Jane worked at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for 22 years eventually becoming the Department Head of the NJ Pacemaker and Defibrillator Center retiring in 2000. There she met her second husband, Dr. Victor Parsonnet, whom she married in May 2004. They adored each other and enjoyed many years of traveling, supporting the New Jersey Symphony Organization and Newark Public Library, and spending time with family.
Jane’s deep love for family and friends was legendary by all who knew her. She sincerely cared for others more than herself which was always expressed through her warm personality, beautiful smile and boundless generosity.
Holidays were particularly special as we knew that each meticulously wrapped gift had to be just perfect as a reflection of her love. Impeccably set tables with traditional family favorite dishes all creating memories never to be forgotten and now carried forward by her loving children and grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her husband of 16 years, Victor Parsonnet, MD, two loving sons; Richard T. Cort and his wife, Cheryl, and Ronald J. Cort and his wife, Sandy Ramsey, loving daughter Kathleen MacDonald and her husband, Robert, five cherished grandchildren; CarolLynn Conley (Edward), Lauren MacDonald, Michael MacDonald (Matthew), Emily Cort and Richard Cort; and two great-grandchildren; Sarah Jane and Sean Conley.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Cort, brothers; Richard and John, and sister, Carol.
Jane will be interred at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, NJ. It was her wish to have a private family graveside service.
