NORTH PLAINFIELD- Francis Joseph "Frank" Isele,of North Plainfield, was called home to the Lord on Monday, March 8, 2010. He was 88 years old. Frank was born July 7, 1921 in Scranton, PA, the son of Alfred H. and Elizabeth Isele (nee Brier).
He moved from Scranton in 1941 to Central New Jersey, where he was employed with New Jersey Bell Telephone Company for 42 years in various capacities in Plainfield, Somerville, New Brunswick, Elizabeth, Newark, East Orange, and Woodbridge, retiring in 1984 as an engineering supervisor.
From 1942-1946, he served as a radioman with the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater of World War II, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Frank was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, North Plainfield, where he was a lector, Eucharistic minister, and choir member. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus, and served many years as the Committee Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 19, sponsored by St Joseph's Church.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Annamae Hauser Isele, his son:Francis W. Isele,Ph.D and daughter-in-law Rosemary,of Saratoga Springs, NY, his son William P. Isele,Esq. and daughter-in-law, Linda Jean of Miltown, NJ; his daughter Mary Kay Cullinan, Ph.D and son-in-law Patrick A. Cullinan, of Middlesex, NJ; nine grandchildren: Dana Figliomeni, Frank Isele, and Nicholas Isele, all of Upstate New York; GySgt. William N. Isele (USMC) of Maysville, NC; Christopher P. Isele of Leuven, Belgium; and David Isele of Brooklyn, NY; Joseph L. Cullinan of Piscataway, Marie and Kiera Cullinan, both of Middlesex: five great-grandchildren; Sophia, Christian and Jack Figliomeni and Anthony and Maria Isele, all of Upstate NY.; his sister, Anna M. Suscavage and brother-in-law Edward Suscavage of Moscow, PA; his sister-in-law Dolores Selbach of Syracuse, NY;three nieces: Barbara Viola, Geralyn Suscavage, and Chloe Webb; and two nephews: Al Suscavage and John Nihen. He was predeceased by his sister, Rosemary Nihen, niece Mary Nihen and brother-in-law Fred Selbach.
Friends are invited to celebrate Frank's life with his family at the McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Avenue Union, NJ 07083 on Friday March 12 from 2:00- 4:00 PM and 7:00- 9:00 PM; A Funeral Liturgy will be Saturday 10 AM at Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church, Middlesex, followed by entombment at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
