Edward J. Flanagan

Edward was born in Newark, NJ, where he graduated from St. Michael's High School and met his wife of 70 years, Patricia Flanagan (nee Ganey). He retired as a Supervisor of Electrical and Skilled Trades for the General Motors Linden Assembly Plant, formerly working at Hyatt Roller Bearing Co., and also served as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of St. Genevieve's Parish in Elizabeth, NJ.

He is predeceased by his sons, Michael and Daniel, and brothers, John Vincent and Bernard. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 70 years, Patricia; his sons, Edward Jr., James and his wife Linda, and daughter-in-law Anne. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Daniel Jr., Kevin, Brian and his wife Rachael, John, Kenny, Ellen, and Caitlin; and great-grandchildren, Peter, Lucy, and Charlotte. He is also survived by sister Dolly Malit, brother-in-law John Ganey, sister-in-law Dolores Oberlies, and sister-in-law Margaret Flanagan.

A visitation for Edward will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Genevieve's Church, 200 Monmouth Rd, Elizabeth, NJ 07208. A graveside service will immediately follow this at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
