Donald G. Ring

Donald G. Ring, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Donald was a life-long resident of Union where he graduated from Union High School, having played varsity basketball for 4 years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, and later worked for Elizabethtown Gas Company, retiring as a director after 38 years of service. Donald enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and playing with his buddy Blizzard.

Donald was predeceased by his dear son Thomas Patrick, 2 years ago to the day. He is also predeceased by his brother Aloysius. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Marlene, his mother-in-law Marie Rehn, loving daughters Donna Hydock and her husband Paul and Suzanne Glassman and her husband Bob. He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren Megan, Matthew, Erin, Amelia, Ian, and Olivia, as well as his brothers Michael and his wife Mary, George and his wife Dee, sister Mary Jane White and her husband Thomas, sister-in-law Mary Ring, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 12 from 4-8 PM at the McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave Union. Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday February 13 at 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Church, Union, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Donald’s name to the American Heart Association 1 Union Street, #301 Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183.
