She immigrated to the United States when eighteen years old working as a nanny in the New York area. Later while working at Universal in Irvington New Jersey, she met and fell in love with the love of her Life Hans Hafner (1937-2002). Prior to coming to the US, you would find Christina working the double decker buses in Glasgow as an onboard cashier. She proudly became a US citizen in July of 1986.
Together they started a family and settled in Union New Jersey where Christina spent the majority of her life around her favorite neighbors until moving to Cranford New Jersey in 2020 after retiring from Access Storage in Kenilworth New Jersey (2006).
Christina enjoyed her time with friends and family, especially when preparing one of her special meals around the holidays. Anyone who had a chance to stay at "Christina's" while visiting knows they were always well taking care of, and she loved doing it. She also was a member of the Holy Spirit Rosary Altar Society and enjoyed bowling with her church friends. In her additional free time Christina enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City with her friend Janice, the weekly lottery, and her dedication to the current housewives/Below Deck TV shows.
Christina is survived by her son's Stephen Hafner of Cranford New Jersey and Holger Raff of Germany, her three brothers, Jack Trench and his Wife Carol, Graham Trench and his wife Mary, Brian Trench, and Cousin Lauri Ann McCarthy and her Husband Doug. Predeceased where her two sisters Ann Oliver Borg (2020) survived by husband Robert, Margret Miller (2022) Husband Bill and her brother James. With this large family there were many cousins and just family members who kept in close contact over the years. Lauren, Katie, Sarah, Karen, Aileen, Patricia.
A mass in memory of Christina will be held in the future at Holy Spirit Church, Union, NJ as well as the same in Glasgow and possibly Ulm Germany where Hans is resting. Details will follow.
