Anna P. (Cortese) Galuppo, 94, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2023 at UMC-Bristol Glen in Newton, NJ. Anna was born on January 8, 1929 in Elizabeth, NJ and graduated from Battin High School in 1947. She worked in the office of Thomas & Betts, using early computers. She married the love of her life, Thomas Galuppo, in 1953. In 1967, she moved with her family from Elizabeth to Sussex County. Her family was her world and she spoiled everyone with her cooking and baking talents. When her children were older, she returned to the work force in the banking industry and then later, her favorite job as the baker for Sparta High School, retiring in 1990. An excellent cook, Anna would spend hours in the kitchen. Her meatballs and desserts were top-notch and she always had food ready no matter when you stopped over to visit.
Anna was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Thomas F. Galuppo, Sr. (2020), her son Thomas F. Galuppo, Jr. (2022), her sons-in-law Edward Brzychcy, Sr. and Richard Noble, her parents Ignazio and Vita Cortese and her siblings, Cosimo (Margaret) Cortese, Thomas (Josephine) Cortese, Carmela (Nicholas) Trabachino, and Joseph (Michelina) Cortese.
She is survived by her children, Ann Marie Noble, Louise (Raymond) Chattaway, Theresa (Paul) Sensbach, Joseph (Tammy) Galuppo, and Barbara (Richard) Clark. Also surviving her are daughter-in-law Donna Galuppo; eight grandchildren, Edward Brzychcy, Paul Brzychcy (fiancé Nicole), Thomas Galuppo III, Samantha (Kyle) Dawson, Michael (Ashly) Galuppo, Andrew (Jana) Galuppo, Marisa (Dylan) Ricciardi, and Ricky (Holly) Clark; six great-grandchildren, Eddie, Conner, Peter and Ashlyn Brzychcy, Dominick Ricciardi, and Mileena Clark and three more great-grandchildren on the way.
Anna was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, Newton, NJ. She was a talented artist and enjoyed making puzzles, and playing poker and Rummikub. Always willing to lend a hand, she was a good-hearted person and was affectionately known as “Anna Banana”.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Spirit Church, 984 Suburban Rd., Union, NJ on July 29, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, NJ will follow. A memorial service will be held at Bristol Glen on August 24, 2023 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
