Mr. Christian J. De La Roche

Mr. Christian J. De La Roche died on May 1, 2009. Born in Union City, he lived in Weehawken for most of his life. The Beloved eldent son of the late Christian and Marie (nee Sweeney) De La Roche, Brother to the late Ronald and Edward De La Roche, and is survived by his sister, Mary Martin and Richard D. De La Roche and their spouses, Jerome J Martin and Maureen De La Roche(nee Canning). He is the dear uncle of; Mary Beth, Maureen, Sharon, Bernadette, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Jerome and Ronald. The De La Roche family wish to acknowledge and thank Douglas Melchior, his dear friend for his dedicated care-giving during Chris's long illness.

Chris served honorable with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the President of the Weehawqken Democratic Club and a well known and respected banker serving as a Vice President and branch manager for Hudson United Bank.

Chris was a honors Graduate of St Peter's College. During his youth he was an All- State Athlete at Weehawken High School and played for the United States Army baseball team during a portion of his military service. Chris was also a prfessional referee and long time coach with the Weehawken community. Cris and his brother Edward were long time ushers at St Lawrence Church.

The funeral will be on Wednsday 5/6/2009 at 10:30am at St. Lawrence Church with the interment to follow at Madonna Cemetery.
