Susan E. Lombardo

Susan Elizabeth Lombardo passed away at Backus Hospital of Norwich on February 21, 2023. She was born on October 15, 1921 in South Kingston, Rhode Island to the late Amato and Angelina (DiSalvo) Sciola.

Susan married John J. Lombardo on June 28, 1946. They were joined in blessed marriage for 74 years.

She was sustained by a lifelong devotion to her Catholic church. In every task that she undertook, Susan’s dedication to her faith and to her family’s loving care was evident. In every capacity that motherhood afforded her, Susan cared for her beloved sons, and later she missed no opportunity to shower love and care upon her grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her son John S. Lombardo and his wife Stephanie of Lyme, son Robert J. Lombardo and his wife Jarine of Maine, her grandchildren Cherylyn Lombardo and Christine (Clint) Phelps, as well as her great-grandchildren Brandon Lapierre, Shayla Lombardo-Brown, Justin Longton and Christian Longton. She was predeceased by her brother Albert Sciola and her sisters Tilly Coppolino, Clementine Birch and Marion Maggio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday May 4th at 10:00 AM at St. John Church, 22 Maple Ave., Uncasville. Burial will immediately follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Pawcatuck. Please visit www.montvillefuneralhome.com to leave an online condolence for the Lombardo family.
