On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, D. Rachele Poole Regan, 53, of Uncasville, CT, entered the gates of Heaven. Rachele left a legacy of service to others, and she believed in service before self. She served the church, was a foster parent, and was a fierce advocate for those less fortunate and in need. She had compassion for people and truly had a heart larger than life. She gave selflessly of her time, as her life’s passion was to help others. She was called her into the field of social work, where she served as a case manager in various capacities. Rachele’s first job was for a local nursing home where she grew up, creating activities for the elderly; she worked with the elderly in both in home and inpatient facilities. She also worked passionately for children of all walks of life. And most recently, she built her own non-profit organization to help those in need. Her life of service will leave a lasting impression on all those she touched.
She was a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, and was a 1986 graduate of Northeast High School, where she was a member of the marching band, playing the clarinet. In 1991, she decided to make Western North Carolina her home. She attended Mars Hill College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2009. She resided in North Carolina until 2016, when she married the love of her life, Tim Regan and they moved to Uncasville, CT.
Survivors include, husband, Tim Regan, and his four children, Tj Regan, Andrew Vasquez and wife Alexis, Jessica Ramsdell and husband Joshua, and their three children, Matthew, Ava, and Rowen, and Haley Regan, a son, Brendan Poole, and a brother, Donald Poole and wife, Darlene, and their three children Dawson, Landon, and Nathan.
Rachele is preceded in death by her parents, Ronald Charles Poole and Helen Fitch Poole, aunt, Mary Francis Lawrie, Grandparents, Pauline and Chester Jackson, and Grandparents, Donald Hale & Dorothy Grace Poole, after whom her and her brother were named.
Services will be held at Seaport Community Church, 28 Great Brook Rd in Groton, CT, on March 5th at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to your local homeless shelter, made in honor of Rachele.
