William M Carter

the Pines Cemetery with Rev. Bennie Portwood officiating.

Mr. Carter was born on May 23, 1928 in Brantley, AL to William

Shelton Carter and Annie Mae Compton Carter.

He past away Wednesday evening, October 5, 2011 at Hospice of

East Texas with family by his side.

Bill worked as Market Manager for several grocery store chains in

East Texas including Brookshires, Lasater's and Piggly Wiggly. He

retired in 1990.

He was a kind and gentle man; a wonderful husband, father and

grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Carter in 2005 as well as

his parents and two sisters.

He is survived by his sons Glenn Carter and wife Edna, Lynn Carter

and wife Sharon and his daughters Vicky Porter, Deborah Mitchum,

Beverly Rasberry and husband Hal; granddaughters Christina

Warren, Michelle Vinson, Carrie Hebert; grandson Brandon Wood

and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Lloyd James Funeral Home from

9:30am to 1 0:30am on Saturday, October 7 with graveside services

to follow.
