Services for Wanda Jean Byrd Wright, 76, of Tyler are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Lloyd James Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Robert Burkett officiating. Larry Stanley will sing. Burial will be in Bascom Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wright passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 in Tyler.
Wanda was a minister, song writer and publisher. In the past she sang gospel and bluegrass and also played the piano and guitar. She was a former employee of the Lighthouse for the Blind. She attended schools in Tyler and Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Joanna Byrd; sisters, Edna Pauline Ferrell, Carolyn Lee Perkins and Joanna Esther Byrd; brothers, Daniel Steve Byrd, Rev. Paul Byrd Jr. and Monroe David Byrd.
She is survived by husband, John “Ronnie” Wright, sons, Loyd Wayne Fletcher, Houston, George Paul Fletcher, Flint and Abram Jones Cook, Tyler; daughter, Dollie Mae Bozeman, Waco; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Linda Nell Bradshaw, Tyler and brother, Gary Matthew Byrd, Tyler.
Pallbearers are Steven Fletcher, Carl Fletcher, Michael Ferrell, Tommy Walter, Ace McCoy and Zane McCoy. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Wright, Clint Odom and The Lighthouse for the Blind.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
