A Mass of Christian burial for Walter Geisler Sr., 77, of Tyler is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Father Gus Tharappel and Father Dan Daugherty officiating. Burial is in Rose Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Geilser passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 in Tyler.
He was born on April 11, 1934 in Waco to Bob and Lillian Geisler. He formerly owned Geisler Plumbing in Waco. When in moved to Tyler in 1970, he worked for GE and Trane. He was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Knights of Columbus. He served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Geisler.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Geisler; son, Walter Geisler Jr. and wife Tammy of Tyler; daughter, Audra Whitton and husband John of Bullard; grandchildren, Taylor Spiller, Samantha Spiller, Call Spiller, John Whitton III and Madison Whitton; brother, Bob Geisler; sister-in-law, Jerrie Geisler.
Pallbears are Gary Berger, Ronnie Pustejovsky, Jimmy Dulock, Jim Ansley, John Henderson and Joey Dulock.
Honorary pallbearers are Herb Sims, Ramond Pacheco and John Johnson.
Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2011 in Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with a visitation following the rosary.
