March 8, 1946 – April 10, 2025
Sybil Maurine Harris Reynolds, 79, of Tyler, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025. Born and raised in Tyler, Maurine was a lifelong resident who poured love and creativity into everything she did.
She was a devoted mother to her children: Ricky Jay Reynolds, Randy Dee Reynolds and his wife Denise, Ruston Charles Reynolds, and Rocky Shane Reynolds and his wife Christy. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren—Brittany (Tyler) Dickey, Jesse (Angel) Reynolds, Brooke (Stetson) Dillard, Trinity (David) Moore, Cheyenne Reynolds, and Colton Reynolds—and was deeply cherished by her seven great-grandchildren. Maurine is also survived by her loving sister, Wanda Harris Callaway, along with a niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Charles Harris and Ruth A. Mae Collins Harris.
Maurine was known for her warm heart, unmatched baking skills, and creative spirit. Her family will forever treasure the memories of baking holiday cookies with "Grammy" in the kitchen—no one could bake cookies quite like she could. Maurine’s talents extended beyond the kitchen: she was a gifted painter, quilter, and even dabbled in architecture. Every Christmas, her loved ones looked forward to receiving a handmade ornament—a tradition she never missed.
Visitation will be held at Lloyd James Funeral Home on Thursday, April 24 at 10:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Bascom Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Landmark Baptist Church (11396 Hwy 64E Tyler), Maurine’s beloved home church.
Maurine’s legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
