Shirley J. Poston

Shirley J. Poston age 72 passed away May 18, 2011 at Briarcliff Health Center, Tyler. She was born August 6, 1938 in Tyler, TX. Growing up she attended local schools in Tyler. She met and married Darrell Poston and they were married May 4, 1973. She enjoyed hunting and fishing she also loved to quilt and paint. As far as her children were concerned Shirley made the best yeast rolls from scratch. Her favorite was yellow flowers and she was of the Baptist faith. Shirley was loved by all her family and friends. All she wanted in life was to love and be loved.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Darrell Poston, sons William and Todd Hill, a host of grand and great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is preceded in passing by her daughter Cindy Hill.

There will be a time of visitation Friday, May 20, 2011 from 4-8pm at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, Tyler. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 2pm. Burial to follow at Ash Cemetery, Athens. Arrangements are under the care of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.
