Shawn N. Bounds

Funeral Services for Shawn N. Bounds age 23, of Alaska will Be 2:00PM Wednesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jacksonville, with Rev. Bob Van Dyke officiating with burial in Tyler Memorial Park, Tyler, Texas.

Mr. Bounds was born on March 19, 1991 in Jacksonville to Mark and Kimberly Webb Bounds and went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 10, 2014 in Alaska while serving in the U S Army at Ft. Richardson, Alaska.

Shawn is survived by his wife: Nicole Bounds of Alaska, step-son Trevor Bruce of Alaska, parents, sisters: Danielle Bounds of Paris, KY and Krystle Pryor and husband Jeremy of Paris, Kentucky, grandparents: Dovie Bounds of Quitman, Wilburn S. Webb of Rusk and Margaret Ann Simes of Killeen and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Shawn was preceded in death by his grandfather: David O. Bounds.

Shawn was loving, caring and a family man. He was a great husband and step-father. He loved reading Trevor stories and teaching him southern manners. He was my support and backbone for his family. Shawn loved and cared for his parents, sisters and brother-in-law. He touched many lives with his outgoing and big hearted nature, he was a true example of what a real families love and support for each other is all about. He will live in our hearts forever and will be greatly missed until we meet again. Our Bubba lived out his dream of being a U S Soldier and standing for our nation. His love for this country and our freedom and his brothers-in-arms was evident in every part of his life and in all the lives he touched.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Lyles, Dakota Keck, David Bounds, Duane Bounds, Patrick Nance , Jonathan Thrift, Staff Sgt. Adam Odem, Josh Parker, Spc. David Nelly, Spc. James Voelker, Spc. James Kirkpatrick, Spc. Austin Pounds & Wayne Barrett.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, Tyler, Texas.
